This was from a photo I took on an iPhone at the end of a long coastline walk. I happened upon an ageing bandstand on the pier, and I found a strange fulfilment in the melancholy scene. It spoke to me of a simpler time in the last century - one that I've never known.
The small piece only has subtle re-touching with burn and dodge brushing, vector shapes to clean up sections, and various adjustments like split toning and lense filter - but above all a clear direction to achieve a simple, unobtrusive beauty that captured my feelings.
